West Longview Sewer Diversion
Client—City of Longview, Washington
Gibbs & Olson was hired to provide the civil engineering and all land surveying associated with planning, design, and construction of 24,700 feet of sewer main along with upgrades to four wastewater pump stations. The project diverted all wastewater flowing to a lagoon treatment system, located on the extreme west side of the City, to a regional treatment plant located on the east side of the City. For the planning phase, a project site GPS projection was established based on existing and new GPS points. Digital level loops were run through control points to refine the projection. Survey data for this project was collected using our GPS/RTK and Total Station. During construction our surveying team was on-site to provide quality control of the contractor’s construction staking and verification of the pipe grade.
