Pacific Hardwoods Stormwater Management Plan
Client—Pacific County, Washington
Pacific Hardwoods operates an alder lumber mill that receives alder logs and re-saws the timber into lumber for shipment to other businesses. The mill is located on property owned by Pacific County. Pacific County hired Gibbs & Olson to prepare a stormwater management plan for the Pacific Hardwoods property. The work included identifying and evaluating options to provide a hard surface in the log yard area, and identifying and evaluating options for the collection and treatment of the site’s stormwater runoff prior to being discharged from the site. As a part of the study, Gibbs & Olson evaluated three surfacing alternatives and three alternatives for collection and treatment of stormwater runoff. The final report presented the alternatives, along with the associated opinions of total project cost, and the preferred alternative recommended for implementation.
