Industrial Site Development, Lewis County, Washington
Client—Industrial Park at TransAlta
This project was the first of several planned projects to implement an industrial park on reclaimed mining land. Improvements, completed through two separate construction contracts, included extending water, sewer, and 3,300 feet of roadway infrastructure to serve a 143-acre area. Site work consisted of excavation, filling, grading, and drainage infrastructure to provide 35-acres of level pad area suitable for specific site development. An existing wildlife corridor on the east side of the property, near Packwood Creek, was preserved and enhanced. The project was funded by a $1 million grant from the Washington State Department of Commerce and a $2.8 million grant from the US Economic Development Administration (USEDA).
