Louisiana Avenue Overlay
Client—City of Chehalis, Washington
Gibbs & Olson provided the surveying, design, and construction phase services for this Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) funded arterial pavement preservation project. The project involved rehabilitating 1,200 feet of urban arterial roadway to improve pavement condition, safety, and accessibility; all within the existing public right‑of‑way. Key project elements included:
- 2‑inch grind and overlay of the existing asphalt roadway
- Roadway restriping and updated channelization and signing
- Constructing a dual‑faced concrete center median
- Replacing non‑compliant ADA pedestrian ramps
- Reinstalling traffic signal detection systems
These improvements were designed to meet current standards while minimizing impacts to surrounding properties and traffic flow.
