230 Kilovolt Power Transmission Lines Topographic Survey
Client—Nippon Dynawave Packaging, Longview, Washington
Nippon Dynawave Packaging (Nippon) purchased the liquid packaging mill previously owned by Weyerhaeuser. Nippon upgraded the existing 230 kilovolt power transmission lines located on the mill site. The upgrades included new poles, anchor locations and retrofitting new lines to existing poles. Gibbs & Olson was hired to complete a topographic survey for the existing lines which included an 11,000-foot-long
by 200-foot-wide corridor. The data collected included wire pole connection heights, sag heights and other potential line obstructions. An AutoCAD electronic data file was provided to the client that included surface model and contours.
