Dougherty Drive Improvements
Client—City of Castle Rock, Washington
The Dougherty Drive improvements included reconstructing 2,600 feet of paved roadway and reducing the pavement width from 32 feet to 30 feet. The roadway was reconstructed utilizing the full depth reclamation method. Gibbs & Olson provided the surveying, design and construction phase services. The road was reconfigured to include two 11-foot travel lanes with 4-foot shoulders in each direction. A 6-foot-wide sidewalk and street lighting, both on the west side of the roadway, were constructed from Mt. St. Helens Way to Ramsey Street, incorporating existing sidewalk and street lighting into the frontage improvements. The project site was evaluated for significant cultural resources by a cultural resource subconsultant.
