Gibbs & Olson Selected for Indian Creek Drainage Analysis

The City of Longview has selected Gibbs & Olson to perform a hydraulic evaluation of the Indian Creek drainage area. The evaluation will assess the potential downstream impacts of removing a culvert and/or upgrading a road crossing to meet fish passage requirements.

Kyle Busby has earned his Professional Engineering License in Oregon State. Congratulations Kyle!

A graduate of the University of Washington, Kyle received his B.S. in civil engineering. His dedication and hard work make him a valued Gibbs & Olson team member.

Kyle’s experience includes developing construction plans, specifications, engineer’s estimates, 3D models and pipe networks for roadway construction and site civil projects. He assists with roadway, site, stormwater, sewer and water design projects as well as stormwater analysis.

Gerald Mickelsen Joins Gibbs & Olson

Gibbs & Olson is excited to welcome Gerald Mickelsen to our team. Mickelsen graduated from the University of Washington’s civil engineering program and holds an engineer-in-training certification. He is currently working on civil site design and roadway projects.

Kyle Busby Receives Professional Engineering License

Gibbs & Olson is pleased to announce that Kyle Busby has successfully passed the Professional Engineer’s exam, earning his Professional Engineering License in Washington State.

A graduate of the University of Washington, Kyle received his B.S. in civil engineering. His dedication and hard work make him a valued Gibbs & Olson team member.

Kyle’s experience includes developing construction plans, specifications, engineer’s estimates, 3D models and pipe networks for roadway construction and site civil projects. He assists with roadway, site, stormwater, sewer and water design projects as well as stormwater analysis.

To become a licensed PE, applicants must earn a four-year degree in engineering from an accredited engineering program, have at least four years of supervised experience under a professional engineer, pass two intensive competency exams and earn a license from their state’s licensure board.

Who would have thought that 16 years after Gibbs & Olson sponsored Kyle’s soccer team that he would be working for us? Congrats Kyle, we are happy to have you on our team!

 

Kelso Longview Chamber Welcomes Rich Gushman to Board

The Kelso Longview Chamber starts off the new year by welcoming Rich Gushman to its Board of Directors. “I hope to be able to help the Chamber in its efforts of promoting our community activities and in helping local businesses improve. I am thankful for the opportunities this community has provided me with and I really like living, working and playing in Cowlitz County,” said Gushman.

“Rich grew up in the Longview-Kelso area, has a business here, and is very involved in the community. We are lucky to have someone so dedicated to improving the quality of life in Cowlitz County,” Marcum said.

In addition to his time with the Chamber, Rich serves as board chairman for the LCC Foundation and Three Rivers Christian School and board member for Cowlitz Economic Development Council. He is also a member of the Longview Early Edition Rotary and Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Kelso. Read more>

Gibbs & Olson has hired T.J. Griggs as a project engineer. Griggs graduated from Washington State University’s civil engineering program and holds an engineer-in-training certification. He is currently working on road, site, sanitary sewer, and water design project elements, as well as the analysis and design of stormwater detention and treatment systems.
